Most Hot Wheels Velocity X reminds Interstate; although there are similarities with Carmageddon'om. However, if in the games main mode, open up new cars and tracks, there was a linear campaign, the Hot Wheels Velocity used a more original approach.
Besides linear campaign of 14 missions (Adventure), in the game there are 4 modes: Challenge (essentially also linear campaign of 18 missions, but has no plot), Battle (individual battles on the map randomly chosen), Drag Race (dual race for a short distance) and Joyride (search of hidden bonuses on selected map without rivals and time constraints). Passage of missions in Adventure gives access to new vehicles, the passage of the missions in Challenge - new types of weapons, and some of the maps in Joyride - as some cars. Thus, you can choose what to acquire before - a new car or a new weapon.
